Lime rendering, heritage work

We were tasked with the job of replacing the lath and lime plaster ceiling to the church at Croxby,

by Gordon Smith Conservation, who over the past few years has enlisted our help on several other heritage projects.

A specialist roofing contracting replaced replaced the roof and with that, the original ceiling was removed to expose the exising timber joists. We lathed the joists with sawn laths and used haired lime and fine stuff, to replace the ceiling, like for like.

During the removal of the ceiling, some damage occured to the walls, we were able to repair those areas of damaged render using traditional sand / lime.
